The IRS has updated its website to detail its “mission-critical” functions during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. It has had to curtail some operations due to COVID-19 but key functions, including accepting tax returns and sending refunds, continue. The website details what functions are and aren’t currently running. A Q&A addresses whether tax levies and wage garnishments will remain in place or be paused and how to request a levy’s release. Requests are being considered case by case. The IRS reminds taxpayers that income tax returns should be filed electronically. (Paper returns will be delayed because processing centers are closed.)
