Many Americans are still waiting for Economic Impact Payments (EIPs) from the IRS, which are meant to ease the financial effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Among those still waiting, says the Social Security Administration (SSA), are Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who receive financial management from an SSA-appointed representative payee. The SSA wants these people to know that rep payees should begin receiving the EIPs in late May, in the same form SSI monthly benefits are received (by direct deposit or Direct Express card). EIPs will be for up to $1,200 per eligible adult, $2,400 for eligible married couples and $500 for qualifying children under age 17.
